    Hi everyone!
Here are the top points for the second semifinal, and everyone, please take a vote you too, for the first or second semifinal, to see who we want to come to the final on May 24th. By the way, I’m from Poland:

    THE SECOND SEMIFINAL:
    1p goes to Iceland
    2P go to Ukraine
    4p go to Malta
    6p go to Czech Republic
    8p go to Denmark

Come on and vote everyone! Now all that’s left for me to say is: Good luck SWEDEN! By far the best song in the whole competition. Go Charlotte Perrelli, “ta dem med storm” (i think you can say that in swedish, my friend thaought me, but i’m not so good though)
:) Anyway, hope you win this again, since Charlotte won it in 1999 too, with a song called “Take me to your heaven”

jonti_swe it seems to me you`re just the english language opponent.

    Posted April 24, 2008 at 4:44 pm | Permalink

I’m not an opponent against the language, I just like other languages..other countries, cultures and languages has for a long time been one of biggest interests. I know many people won’t understand the songs’ lyrics if they are in the country’s native language, and as long as the song is good I suppose it doesn’t matter, but I think it’s more important that the singer means what she is singing, well you can have beautiful lyrics but if the singer doesn’t mean them, it loses its feeling. that is the most important thing, then if it is in english or not doesn’t matter, but I just like to listen to music in many different languages.

lol fly I see you’re a fan of joke songs….
myself I’m not a big fan of them. and yea I think there were better songs in the swedish qualification than this one, it shouldn’t even have won if only the people had voted but we have expert juries too….so we could have sent a better song.

by the way shouldn’t the votes be posted in the forum topic for that? http://www.lyricstranslations.com/forum/esc-2008/best-songs-overall/page-1

I don’t know what is happening to Eurovision. Each year the songs are worst and worst. The only four countries that deserve to be the winner are: ROMANIA, SERBIA, BELGIUM and MOLDOVA! People, open your ears, if you have any sense of music! I don’t argue that Hero is a good song, but it is not for Eurovision. Eurovision is a concert of love and passion, of human soul and beauty of the music!!!! (I didn’t mean to hurt anyone.I appologise if anybody feels frustrated because of my words).

  33. jonti_swe
    Posted May 16, 2008 at 2:01 pm | Permalink

Virginia- I think Romania and Serbia would be worthy winners to, not Belgium and Moldova though.
I don’t think the songs are that bad, well some are like Estonia and Spain, but there are always some songs that bad.
Many countries could send better songs though. Especially the western countries, since most of the best songs lately have been from Eastern Europe….
I don’t like my own country’s song Hero so much either it doesn’t make me feel anything special and there were at least two or three better songs in the Swedish national contest according to me.
