Red dawn is still not dawning
mountain leaf is still not blinking
nightingale can not be heard
announcing dawn

Not even zephyra can be heard
nor the shepherd’s song
there’s silence all around
everything alive is resting

may dew-covered flowers blossom
and may they adorn the Spring
I won’t be picking them again
because they are not for me

I won’t be picking them again
because I have nobody to give them to
the one I used to give them to
soil is covering her
