Dustin The Turkey – Irlande douze points

Irelande Douze Pointe

Ireland 2008 Eurovision Song

Oh, I come from a nation
What knows how to write a song
Oh Europe, where oh where did it all go wrong?
Come on!

Irlande douze points

Drag acts and bad acts and Terry Wogan’s wig
Mad acts and sad acts, it was Johnny Logan’s gig

Shake your feathers and bop your beak
Shake ’em to the west and to the east
Wave euro hands and euro feet
Wiggle in the air to the turkey beat

Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points
Do the funky beat
Come on

D O B double B L E, yeah…

Hello Abba, hello Bono, hello Helsinki
Ola Prague, hello sailor, c’est la vie
Auf Wiedersehen, Mama Mia, and God save the Queen
Bonjour Serbia, good day Austria
You know what I mean

Shake your feathers and bop your beak
Shake ’em to the west and to the east
Wave euro hands and euro feet
Wiggle in the air to the turkey beat

Shake your feathers and bop your beak
Shake ’em to the west and to the east
Wave euro hands and euro feet
Wiggle in the air to the turkey beat

Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points

Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points
Do the funky beat
Come on

Give us another chance, we’re sorry for riverdance
Sure Flately, he’s a yank
And the Danube flows through France
Block vote, shock vote
Give your twelve today
You’re all invited to Dublin, Ireland
And we’ll party the Shamrock way

Irlande douze points – Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points – Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points – Irlande douze points
Irlande douze points – do the funky beat
Come on

Irlande douze points, Irlande douze points

Eastern Europe, we love you
Do you like Irish stew?
Or goulash as it is to you?
(Irlande douze points, Irlande douze points)

Listen Bulgaria, we love you
Belarus, Georgia, Montenegro
Moldovia, Albania, Croatia
Poland, Russia, Ukraine
Macedonia, love you Turkey
Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia
Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegova
And don’t forget the Swiss

  1. If you don’t like the song, don’t vote for it; clearly what happened on Tuesday. However, the outrage caused by so-called “joke” entries is ridiculous. How dare people try and entertain us!

Judging a song as good or bad doesn’t really work. Its all based on the hearer’s own taste, attitude and values. What is appealing to one is not so to another, but there is a simple solution if you really don’t like it – don’t vote for it. If others do in the vast majority, does it really matter?
It’s a song contest, not best ballad, best pop song, best traditonally influenced song. Humour is a genre, and if its popular, there is a reason for that, and why shouldn’t it get a chance to amuse all of Europe?

  2. Eastern europe usually have better songs overall, so get over it ok? Something like this will hopefully never win, the Eurovision is not a joke/comedy competition, it’s a song competition ffs!
I am from Sweden just so you know and not from eastern europe.

  3. @#17 Ann: So if you don’t like something it’s ok to ruin it for the rest? What the F**K kind of childish attitude is that. GTFO! NOW!

  4. The music is crap but i seriously enjoy watching, really funny n it has rithm, this should win the best joke song this year. I dont think spain is as funny as this, n the spanish vocals is crap really.

    Eat the Turkey

  5. I think Eastern Europe has had the best songs lately and therefore they have had many winners….
but joke songs like this, estonia, spain and belgium destroy the competition!

  6. I think it was about time someone stood up for the eurovision. Years ago it was a program you could watch with enjoyment with the whole familiy because there were good singers and the best song won. Now it is just a laugh, and not a very funny laugh. Since it went nearer to the east it has been anything but enjoyable. I have not enjoyed it one bit. This song from Ireland is a protest song and I am proud that the irish people decided to stand up and put this song through and finally say something about it.

  7. Well.. good for the turkey that he took the chance to say Irelande Douze Pointe
    lol
Here’s a video of Dustin’s performance in Belgrade

  8. yes, thank god 🙂 i was scared there for a bit :p, in 2006 those idiots from lithuania got through…
ukraine was not as near as bad as this song!! 🙂

  9. I’m happy this didn’t reach the final. it was not at all funny on the stage. and one joke song in the final (Spain) is already enough! I take back the points I gave it in the forum!

  14. Go on ireland!! vote 4 us to win and put an end to BLOCK voting!! the song is catchy and no one can pull of jokes better than us irish!! its basically taking the piss out of the eurovision Block voting etc.. its about time some did!! go us go us!!
    slainte agus slan go foill!!

  15. Haha yea, it was a little funny maybe but not good 😛
This song is not the worst this year though, think spain and estonia probably are the worst….those are also joke songs lol

  16. Yea well I don’t think it’ll win but in the top it will surely be, Ukraine finished second with a “joke song” last year and Lithuania had that “we are the winners of eurovision” which they came quite high with too some years ago, think it was 2006 😛

  17. Quite funny, it’s a good “joke song” if you like that kind of songs but I’m not a that big fan of them….I don’t think nor want that this one wins but it’ll probably reach the finals….
