Eurovision 2009 Estonia: Urban Symphony – Rändajad

Kõrbekuumuses liiva
Lendab kui jääkülma lund
Öö peagi laotamas tiivad
Rändajaid saatma jääb tuul

See on tee nad rändavad nii päevast päeva
See on tee nad rändavad siis ajast aega
See on tee ta nähtamatu rajana kulgeb
Nende ees ta ootab kui riskida julged

Külmunud hingi vaid saadab
Kuuvalgus varje neist loob
Päikesekiirena sooja
Hommik taas endaga toob

See on tee nad rändavad nii päevast päeva
See on tee nad rändavad siis ajast aega
See on tee ta nähtamatu rajana kulgeb
Nende ees ta ootab kui riskida julged

Nad rändavad nii päevast päeva
Nad rändavad siis ajast aega
Ta nähtamatu rajana kulgeb
Ta ootab kui riskida julged

Üle mägede taevasse kaigub hääl

See on tee nad rändavad nii päevast päeva
See on tee nad rändavad siis ajast aega
See on tee ta nähtamatu rajana kulgeb
Nende ees ta ootab kui riskida julged
See on tee

Urban-Symphony-Randajad
English Translation

The Nomads

In the desert heat, the sand
blows like ice-cold snow
The night soon spreads its wings
Nothing but the wind to escort the nomads

That is the way they wander from one day to the next
That is the way they wander from one life to the next
That is the way it weaves an invisible path
on them, it waits until you are ready to take the risk

It carries only frozen souls
The moonlight makes their shadows
Warmth in a ray of sunlight
is what the morning brings once again

That is the way they wander from one day to the next
That is the way they wander from one life to the next
That is the way it weaves an invisible path
on them, it waits until you are ready to take the risk

They wander from one day to the next
They wander from one life to the next
It weaves an invisible path
It waits until you are ready to take the risk

A voice echoes across the mountains up to the heavens

That is the way they wander from one day to the next
That is the way they wander from one life to the next
That is the way it weaves an invisible path
on them, it waits until you are ready to take the risk
That is the way

  1. great song. I think this song should be the 5. this song was better than england’s.
    greetings from Turkey

  2. Who needs drums, fireworks and grandmas onstage? I almost cried because this song is as beautiful as the singer…

  3. That’s great, I like singing in languages that I don’t know. My favourites were Estonia, Israel, France, and Iceland!

    Greetings from TR!

  4. …it is really marvelous song i ever heard in the eurovision song contest!!!! really!!! 🙂 and you should be proud 🙂 you have to 🙂 i’m happy for you even if you didn’t won this competition. sometimes the great general loses little battle that to win a war 😉 good luck :*

  5. thank you very much for your kindness,
i was here for your meaningful See on tee English translation,

  6. I’m from Australia and my family and friends all LOVE eurovision (we throw a party every year!). I love the kitsch but I also love the classy entries (nice to have a balance) and this song is by far my favourite! I love the lyrics and the music and, as a non-european english-speaker I’m glad it was sung in Estonian. I have learned the lyrics off by heart! I was disappointed that most songs were sung in english. Eurovision is about celebrating different cultures and language is the most important aspect of a country’s identity. Well done Estonia on a beautiful entry. If I could vote, I would have voted for you 🙂

  7. This song reminds me of Stephenie Meyer’s book “The Host”.
The book is about a soul named Wanderer, and she wanders in a desert, too (my favourite book, by the way).
    And the song is super.

  8. Seriously .. this is was the top song of the contest and I’m listening to it every day, ever thankful for their choice of language. The song is beautiful and thanks to the translations on the Net, I even love the text. If I only had more of this to listen to … really, really good work Estonia and Urban Symphony !! //

  9. i really liked this song it is classic but its still nice it is much better than last year Congrats Estonia 6th place not bad 🙂

    Congratulation from Azerbaijan =)

  10. hermosa cancion!!!! me gusto muuchisimo!!! pero creo que ella merecia el 1er lugar!

I like the language she sings! but I think she deserved the 1st place!
the 6th is not bad place but deserves more!

  11. Excelente canción, vocalista, música,… todo, creo que debería estar en un mejor lugar, sin embargo, un 6to lugar no es malo!!

Awesome song!, singer, music… everything, I think that should be in a better rank, however, the sixth place is not bad!!

  12. Sa oled suurepärane ja igaüks armastab sind!
Teil peaks olema won Eurovision 2009!
    Tervitused Küpros!
You are fantastic and everyone loves you!
You should have won Eurovision 2009!
    Greetings from Cyprus!

  13. Oh my, this is definetely my favourite ESC entry in a looooooooooooong time! Just a very hypnotic and beautiful song – got chills! 🙂

Although they didn’t get the first prize (which they *of course* should’ve), I’m glad that my fellow Finns also thought very very higly of this song!

    Kaksteist punkti! 😀

  14. Really beautiful song, language, singer, performance!!!
Why didn’t she take the first place?!! She desrves at least 2nd place!!!
    Anyway, well done!!!

  15. Mulle meeldib Sandra Nurmsalu ja tema laul! On täiesti uinuti. Sven Lõhmus oleks teinud suurim viga, et tema elu, kui ta ei vali Sandra ja tema Urban Symphony läbiviimiseks.
    Tervitused Küpros!
    Maailm armastab sind!
I love Sandra Nurmsalu and her song! It is absolutely hypnotic. Sven Löhmus would have made the biggest mistake of his life if he did not pick Sandra and her Urban Symphony to perform this.
    Greetings from Cyprus!
    The world loves you!

  16. The best song that I heard in the contest…Eh…It’s so good…I keep listening it every day…

  17. I liked the song and the language so much. It seemed diffucult for me because I’m from Turkey. Actually when I sing it, it didn’ t take too much time for me to sing well, Estonian language is a VERY cool language like Turkish! =) So, I put Estonia in my TOP 10 Europe Countries list as number 2 =) (Of course the 1st one is Turkey=))

  18. That’s right..everyone have different tastes. We can’t argue that are u grazy it’s the best. But if u don’t like it then don’t listen it, we are not mad that u don’t like it. Go and listen ur favourite song then.

Mina alguses ei mõistnud mis sel erilist on, kuid kui rohkem kuulama hakkasin hakkas see mulle meeldima. Arvan et üle pika aja meil jälle hea lugu olemas 🙂

    Thanks from Estonia! 😉
