Jelena Tomašević to represent Serbia at Eurovision 2008

Jelena The following songs passed semifinal of Beovizija 2008, Serbian contest for Eurovision song, and made it to the finals where the scoreboard was as follows:

1. Jelena Tomašević – Oro

Jelena Tomašević got maximum 12 points from the expert jury and also won the televoting. Reactions of the public tell enough:

Ever since the announcement of songs to compete at Beovizija, Jelena Tomašević (Јелена Томашевић) with her strong vocal performance and the traditional song, “Oro” (“Hora” – a type of circle dance originating in the Balkan) has been characterized as most likely to win. This was her second attempt to enter Eurovision and both times with songs composed by Željko Joksimović (the first was with song “Jutro“). Željko is a famous Serbian singer who won second place at ESC 2004 with song “Lane moje” and he will also be one of the ESC 2008 hosts.

Beovizija 2008 was hosted by two young couples who had won Serbian contest “Evropsko lice” and, one of them, Kristina Radenković and Branislav Katić, won televoting during the final night and will, therefore, be hosting the Green Room.
