Tereza Kesovija – Ne traži me

Zajedno smo bili jučer,
danas sve do pet,
vidjeti te sad ne želim
ni za čitav svijet.

Sva su svjetla pogašena
baš je mirna noć,
javio mi nisi da ćeš
iznenada doć.

Ne znam što te k meni vodi,
sumnja ili strah,
bar me malo oslobodi,
nestaje mi dah.

Kucaj tiho, nemoj glasno,
ne traži me tako kasno,
vidjeti te sad ne želim ja,
kucaj tiho, nemoj glasno,
ne traži me tako kasno,
daj mi malo mira, malo sna.

Zajedno smo bili jučer,
danas sve do pet,
vidjeti te sad ne želim
ni za čitav svijet.

Sva su vrata zatvorena,
grad je tako tih,
koraci se tvoji čuju,
ja se bojim njih.

Ne znam što mi opet spremaš,
dobro ili zlo,
k’o da posla drugog nemaš,
zašto činiš to.

English Translation

Don’t Look for Me

We were together last night,
today till five,
I don’t wish to see you now
not even for the whole wide world.

All of the lights are turned off
the night is really peaceful,
you didn’t tell me that
you will suddenly come.

I don’t know what’s it making you come to me,
doubt or fear,
does it give me a little bit of freedom,
my breath doesn’t stop.

Knock quietly, don’t do it too loud,
don’t look for me too late,
I don’t wish to see you now,
knock quietly, don’t do it too loud,
don’t look for me too late,
let me have some peace, some dreams.

We were together last night,
today till five,
I don’t wish to see you now
not even for the whole wide world.

All of the doors are closed,
the city is very quiet,
your footsteps can be heard,
I’m scared of them.

I don’t know what you’re preparing for me again,
good or evil,
it’s like you don’t have somebody else,
why are you doing this

  1. Hm..

    look for
    1. To search for; seek: looking for my gloves.

    search for someone or something
to look very hard for someone or something. I searched for Ted everywhere, but he was already gone. I have searched for my glasses high and low.

But.. I don’t know, I sort of have my own ideas about it..
e.g. I guess I’d search a drawer looking for socks and I don’t imagine I’d search for a person unless if they were lost in the woods. When a stranger shows up at your door, you don’t ask them “Who are you searching for”?

Look here, I suppose they have made some meaningful comments – What is the difference between Looking & Search?

  2. I’m not sure, sometimes when I translate songs it takes me 5 minutes to decide which one is better to use 😆 I’ll switch it too “look for” 🙂
