I am proud to say that I am Maltese when abroad… but when it comes to the Eurovision I feel ashamed to be Maltese because of our lack of vocabulary in the lyrics, for example, two years ago, in ‘I DO’ 60% of the lyrics where the title itself. Last year, in ‘Vertigo’ again, the word vertigo was repeated an abundant number of times, but at least in those two songs you could understand most of the words. When it comes to this year with the song ‘Vodka’ not only the lyics where very poor, repeating the title over and over again but with Morena’s singing no- one could understand any other word but ‘Vodka’… Now I am not only being negative, but I am being realistic…
Anyway Good luck Morena, we are not hoping for high expectations so no one will be disappointed if you do not succeed, just try to work on your pronunciation so maybe we will pass to the semi- finals… fingers crossed…

I don’t really understand in music, and out there are loads of people like me, who judge the song by just hearing the beat and the rhythm of the song! But like everyone else I’ve got my opinion and honestly I thought that Caravaggio dissevered representing Malta.
I don’t like nothing about the song vodka, I believe it’s worthless…but I hope that I’m all wrong as the singer morena it’s great! She’s young, She’ got talent., voice, style and attitude, full of energy and she’s confident which is good once she’s on stage performing…
How ever I think that no matter how great the song is, it depends on how it goes that night!! Which by all means I wish all the good luck and best wishes to morena! Be yourself and don’t let anyone influence you! As Maltese, we’re all after you…so go girl and have fun + enjoy every bit of it! I think that it is not stupid to criticise, after all we live in a democracy and what one like another does not. It is criticism that has made big countries better. Malta has always suffered because we are afraid ‘mill-kritika tal-gara’!!!
Morena did a good job. But anyone who listens to music can also say that the lyrics are crap. I mean where is the story apart from the singer saying she is being followed in gorgi park by spies!
Also apart from that no one understands anything apart from spy one to spy four!!!!! And by the way Morena it is not difficult to understand the lyrics as you said on tv. You said it is difficult to explain to people ‘difficult words like gorgi park’. Maybe you do not listen to music but if you remember a provincial group from Germany called Scorpions had a song once called ‘Wind of Change’ and they do happen to mention gorgi park. So people do know some difficult words!!
