Mir, mir do neba
braći i sestrama
kada nas probude
da rata ne bude
Mir, mir, do neba
do moga naroda
gdje sunce ljubi nebo
i kad padne mrak
Jer nikada se ničega
ne bojim ja
al ne volim
kad pomislim
da pada mrak
Zašto moram sanjati
rata-ta-ta-ta
rata-tata-ti
mnogo milije mi je
kad u snovima
sa mnom sanjaš ti
Jer nikada, bas nikada
ne plačem ja
suze i mrak
i vojni znak
ne podnosim
A kraj moga prozora
cijelu noć me pratila
slika nočnih mora
ko iz Rata Svijetova
buket crnih cvijetova
suze od Boga
English Translation
Peace Everywhere
Peace, may there be peace everywhere
to our brothers and sisters
so when they wake us up
there is no war
Peace, peace, everywhere, may there be
to my people
where the sun kisses the sky
even when night falls
‘Cause there is nothing
that I fear
but I don’t love it
when I think about
when the night falls
Why do I have dream of
boom, boom, boom
bang, bang, bang
I much prefer
when, in my dreams
you’re dreaming with me
‘Cause never, never ever
do I cry
I can’t take
tears and the dark
and the army sign
I can not stand
And it has been following me
for the whole night beside my window
the image of nightmares
like the worlds at war
a bouquet of black flowers
and tears from God
xD Ok it’s decided. I’ll change the title. I couldn’t figure it out either lol
Actually… I vote for “Peace up to the sky”
[the simplest things are always most complicated :D]
Well.. the matter is not really solved because I am not quite sure that “everywhere” is the best solution 🙂
“do neba” znači nešto beskrajno rasprostranjeno, jer nebo nema granicu (ne možemo ni da zamislimo gde mu je kraj)
A common example of its use>
Vlado Kelember – Volim te do neba
(which might go further, to “volim te do neba i nazad”)
[Vlado Kelember has very nice songs.. perhaps you could translate some]
I see 🙂 Thanks
Don’t take my word for it but I believe that “do neba” is more likely in terms of “territory”, not time. As in “peace everywhere” (not forever).
Another thing.. please think about English equivalent for “rata-ta-ta-ta” (it’s the sound of gun shots)
PS
Cross-linguistic onomatopoeias
Cannon firing; gunshot; machine gun fire
In English, bam, boom, blam, kaboom; bang, pow; rat-at-at-at-at-at, gat-gat-gat-gat, dakka-dakka
